How to Use the Body Scrub?

Body scrubs are physical exfoliants, usually based on salt or sugar, used to remove dead skin cells from the skin. The abrasive ingredients (sugar, salt) penetrate the skin and work as natural exfoliants, removing old skin cells from the skin and leaving your skin feeling soft and nourished. Body scrubs work to stimulate skin cell renewal, making the skin smoother and brighter, and help restore the skin's natural moisture, preventing future acne and making you feel great!

There are many body scrubs on the market to suit your skin type, so you can find one that suits your needs to remove dead skin cells without causing any damage to your skin. Body scrubs help to restore your skin to its natural, soft, and supple state and are a great addition to any skincare routine.

When should I use a body scrub?

If you are wondering when to use an exfoliating body scrub, make sure you use it after showering or bathing and after using shower gel, soap or body wash. This ensures your skin is clean and ready for exfoliation, while the warm water ensures your skin is moist and soft. The warm water also opens your pores, ensuring your body scrub is as effective as possible in removing any unwanted skin cells.

How often should you use a body scrub?

You shouldn't use a body scrub every day; exfoliation can be irritating to the skin and over-exfoliation can damage skin cells and prevent natural repair. You don't want to overly strip your skin of moisture or damage the skin barrier. Use a body scrub 1-2 times a week at most. Once a week is a good idea as it can easily become a weekly self-care routine.

How to use the body scrub?

1. Soak in warm water.

When exfoliating, it is a good idea to take a nice bath to prepare your whole body. You can take a shower or bath, but make sure you have washed your body with soap or body wash before applying the body scrub and that your skin is moist, soft, and supple to ensure the best results. Using warm water, allow your skin to soak for at least 10 minutes.

2. Apply an ample amount of scrub to your hands and gently rub it into your skin.

Use circular movements to allow it to absorb well into the skin, then apply a generous amount of body scrub all over your body. We recommend starting with your upper body and working your way down. Apply in a circular motion to your chest, arms, torso, and legs - don't forget your hindquarters! Finish by exfoliating, and taking care of slippery bathroom surfaces.

3. Use a brush or gloves to increase the cleansing effect of your exfoliators and scrubs.

This will also prevent you from overworking your hands!

4. Scrub your skin for a maximum of 30 seconds, always keeping a gentle pressure.

5. Rinse the skin thoroughly with warm water.

This helps to remove any dead skin cells that the body scrub has absorbed through a reaction with the skin. Wash the exfoliator with massaging movements to remove excess particles.

6 . Shave, if needed.

This will also prevent your hands from being overworked!

7 . Pat your skin dry with a towel.

Gently patting your skin will help your skin feel softer and clean for longer.

8 . Apply a moisturizer/cream.

Moisturise your skin when it is slightly damp to ensure it gets into the skin properly. Body scrubs can temporarily break down your skin barrier and dry out your skin, which is why it is important to moisturise and restore your skin's natural moisture levels after application.
