TORREMOLINOS, MÁLAGA, SPAIN — Friday, 25 September 2026 — Clevenard is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Hon. Azad Dhomun, G.O.S.K., F.C.I.B., as a Global Ambassador of the Clevenard Open Project 2027.
The appointment forms part of the recently established Clevenard International Ambassadorial Programme, an initiative designed to bring together distinguished individuals whose experience, knowledge, professional standing and international relationships can contribute to the development of the Clevenard Open Project and its wider international network.
Hon. Dhomun brings more than six decades of experience in international banking, business and economic engagement, together with extensive experience in diplomacy and international relations.
A CAREER SPANNING BANKING, DIPLOMACY AND INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
Hon. Azad Dhomun is a distinguished Mauritian banking professional whose career began in the 1960s and developed across several international markets.
Throughout his career, he has held senior positions within the banking sector and has worked across Africa, the Indian Ocean region and other international markets, gaining extensive experience in financial services, banking development and international business relationships.
His professional experience has included senior banking responsibilities in countries including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and the Comoros, as well as involvement in the development of international banking operations in the Indian Ocean region.
His career has also included significant diplomatic responsibilities.
Mr. Dhomun served Mauritius in diplomatic capacities as an itinerant ambassador, including assignments involving the Gulf region and African countries, where his work included promoting international relationships and economic opportunities.
His combination of banking, economic and diplomatic experience provides a distinctive international perspective relevant to the multidisciplinary nature of the Clevenard Open Project.
RECOGNITION BY THE REPUBLIC OF MAURITIUS
Hon. Azad Dhomun was awarded the Grand Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (G.O.S.K.) by the Republic of Mauritius in recognition of his long and distinguished service in the banking sector.
He was also recognised at the Financial Afrik Awards, receiving the Special Jury Prize in 2021 for his contribution and experience within the African financial and banking environment.
These recognitions form part of a career characterised by long-term engagement in banking, international business and public service.

The appointment of Hon. Azad Dhomun follows the establishment of the Clevenard International Ambassadorial Programme and the appointment of Ambassador Alain St. Ange, Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Seychelles, as Chairman of the Clevenard Open Project 2027.
