Ambassador Alain St. Ange, Ambassador-at-Large for the Republic of Seychelles and the recently appointed Chairman of the Clevenard Open Project 2027, is set to receive two prestigious tourism awards in recognition of his outstanding leadership, distinguished service and lifelong contribution to the development and promotion of tourism across Africa and beyond.
The double recognition, which will take place in October and November 2026, further highlights Ambassador St. Ange’s enduring influence within the international tourism community. It also brings added distinction to the Clevenard Open Project 2027 as preparations continue for its landmark gathering in Torremolinos, Málaga, Spain, in June 2027.
Two Prestigious Awards Celebrating a Lifetime of Tourism Leadership
The first honour will be presented at Hospitality Awards Africa 2026, scheduled for 24 October 2026 at the Sheraton Lagos in Nigeria. Ambassador St. Ange will receive an Honorary Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, distinguished service and significant contribution to the hospitality and tourism industry in Africa.
In its official correspondence, Hospitality Awards Africa stated:
“This Honorary Award acknowledges your professional excellence, commitment to industry development, and lasting impact on the hospitality sector. The Board and Judges of Hospitality Awards Africa proudly recognize and commend your contribution and dedication to advancing hospitality excellence across Africa.”
The organisation also extended its congratulations and expressed its anticipation of welcoming Ambassador St. Ange to Lagos to celebrate his achievements and contributions to African hospitality.
Just days later, on 1 November 2026, Ambassador St. Ange will be honoured once again, this time in London, United Kingdom, at the Africa Tourism Awards 2026, also known as the Balearica Awards. The ceremony, scheduled to take place at the Hilton London Canary Wharf, will see him receive the highly coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.
This distinguished accolade recognises individuals whose vision, dedication and lifelong contributions have helped shape and elevate African tourism.
In its letter of confirmation, the Africa Tourism Awards highlighted Ambassador St. Ange’s outstanding career, pioneering advocacy and unwavering commitment to promoting African tourism, noting that his work has inspired generations and left a lasting legacy across the industry.
The award ceremony will bring together honourees and leading figures from across Africa and the international tourism community to celebrate achievements that continue to advance the continent’s tourism sector.
A Proud Moment for Seychelles and African Tourism
Reacting to the two awards, Ambassador Alain St. Ange expressed humility and gratitude for the continued recognition he receives from the global tourism industry.
He emphasised that these honours represent not only his personal journey but also the collective efforts of the many colleagues and partners who worked to strengthen Seychelles’ position on the international tourism stage.
“These recognitions are a reminder of the work we did as a team in Seychelles, in a public-private sector partnership, to put Seychelles on the international tourism map. These recognitions are also for the work I did with colleagues around Africa and in the ASEAN Block for tourism as a needed industry for economic development and as a vehicle for promoting peace.
“I must say that I have always believed in what Seychelles has to offer, not only in terms of our islands but also our people and culture. I am proud to have been part of that journey, and I hope to continue contributing to tourism in Seychelles and beyond,” Ambassador St. Ange said.
His remarks reflect a longstanding belief in tourism as more than an economic sector. Through international cooperation, cultural exchange and destination promotion, tourism can create opportunities for communities, strengthen partnerships between nations and serve as a powerful instrument for peace and understanding.
Clevenard Open Project 2027 Welcomes an International Tourism Leader
Ambassador St. Ange’s appointment as Chairman of the Clevenard Open Project 2027 adds an important international tourism dimension to the initiative as it prepares to welcome participants, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives and cultural representatives from around the world.

With Ambassador St. Ange at the helm, the 2027 edition looks ahead to building meaningful bridges between destinations, industries and communities, while highlighting the role of tourism and cultural exchange in creating new opportunities for international cooperation.
His forthcoming awards in Lagos and London provide a timely celebration of a career dedicated to tourism development, international advocacy and the promotion of Africa’s rich destinations, people and cultures.
As the countdown to June 2027 continues, the Clevenard Open Project looks forward to building on this momentum and welcoming the international community to Málaga for an event celebrating collaboration, creativity, investment and global connections.
