Ejike E. Okpa II will receive a prestigious Honorary Award during the Clevenard Global Awards – 4th Edition on Friday, 25 June 2027, recognising his distinguished contributions to business, economic development, public service, international trade and community leadership.

The flagship awards ceremony will form part of a spectacular closing celebration featuring the International Fashion Runway, alongside art and cultural performances, bringing together business, fashion, creativity and culture on one international platform.

His recognition reflects a career dedicated to creating connections between business, government, international markets and communities, while promoting economic opportunity and civic engagement.

Prior to receiving his honorary recognition, Ejike E. Okpa II will deliver a keynote address on Day 2, Wednesday, 23 June 2027, during the Global Economy, Trade, Solid Minerals, Agriculture & Investment Summit.

His keynote will address the powerful theme:

“CREATING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES TO EXPAND THE FRANCHISE OF LIFE.”

The address is expected to provide an important perspective on inclusive economic development, investment, community empowerment and the role of business and government in expanding opportunities for underserved populations.

With extensive experience spanning real estate, economic development, government affairs, financial policy, international business and global trade, Okpa brings a unique perspective to conversations about sustainable economic advancement and international collaboration.

A CAREER BUILT ACROSS BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT AND INTERNATIONAL ENGAGEMENT

Born in Nigeria and having moved to the United States in the 1980s, Ejike E. Okpa II established his professional career in Dallas, Texas, where he has built a reputation connecting business, government, international relations and community development.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, alongside postgraduate studies in real estate and an Executive Advanced Management Program in Real Estate at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.

He is principal of The OKPA Co., a Dallas-based consulting and business enterprise whose areas of work include commercial real estate, economic development, government affairs, financial policy, international business and global trade.

His professional experience includes real estate property analysis, appraisal, development-related consulting and advisory work. He has also served in Texas's real estate sector as a broker and as a licensed senior property-tax consultant.

His advisory work has included consulting for the developer of Third Rail Lofts in downtown Dallas, further reflecting his involvement in commercial real estate and urban development.

CIVIC LEADERSHIP AND PUBLIC SERVICE

Beyond business, Okpa has maintained a strong commitment to civic leadership and community development.

He served as Secretary and later Vice Chair of the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce Board, and served on the Park South YMCA Board, where he helped support fundraising efforts exceeding $1 million.

His civic involvement has also included participation in the Dallas Police Citizens Academy, the Dallas FBI Citizens Academy and Leadership Dallas.

In 2003, he ran for Mayor of Dallas, becoming one of the first African-born candidates to seek the mayoralty of a major American city.

Throughout his career, he has maintained relationships with elected officials and participated in discussions concerning business development, international trade, economic opportunity and the needs of immigrant and minority communities.

His public service appointments have included roles on a Texas State Board, the Dallas Permit and License Appeal Board, and the Texas Region II advisory structure of the U.S. Selective Service System.

In 2021, he was appointed to the Texas State Securities Board, contributing to the administration and enforcement of Texas securities laws, investor protection, capital formation and competitive markets.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND GLOBAL RELATIONS

Okpa's international engagement extends beyond the United States and Nigeria.

His professional biography notes his appointment in 2010 as a Texas trade consultant by the Sultan of Oman, with responsibilities connected to strengthening commercial relations between Oman and Texas.

He has participated in trade missions and hosted foreign dignitaries on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. He has also contributed to Africa–U.S. commercial dialogue through the Africa Insights Committee of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce.

In 1996, he accompanied then-Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk on a business and economic development mission to South Africa and Zimbabwe, reinforcing his longstanding involvement in international economic engagement.
