Alain St.Ange Heads to Spain and the United Kingdom on Tourism Working Missions

VICTORIA, SEYCHELLES — Alain St.Ange, Ambassador-at-Large for the Republic of Seychelles and former Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, is travelling to Europe for two important tourism and leadership engagements in Spain and the United Kingdom.

Ambassador St.Ange is first making his way to Alicante, Spain, where he has been invited to participate in a major tourism conference bringing together a wide cross-section of tourism professionals, global leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, diplomats and other international changemakers.

Ambassador St.Ange is scheduled to take to the podium early Thursday morning as the Distinguished Inaugural Speaker at the Spanish conference.

The conference organisers, in extending the invitation, said:

“A distinguished gathering of global leaders, innovators, creatives, entrepreneurs, diplomats, and changemakers is coming to Alicante, Spain. We are honoured to welcome Ambassador Alain St.Ange, Ambassador-at-Large of the Republic of Seychelles, as the Distinguished Inaugural Speaker.”

Following his engagement in Spain, Ambassador St.Ange will travel to the United Kingdom, where he has been invited to address the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Awards 2026, taking place at the Council Chambers at Oxford Town Hall.

The international gathering is dedicated to celebrating exceptional leadership, achievement and global impact, and will bring together prominent leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, innovators and distinguished professionals from around the world.

Ambassador St.Ange's invitation describes the event as:

He has been specially invited to attend as a Guest of Honour, with the organisers highlighting his distinguished accomplishments and international contribution.

The UK invitation further states that the gathering will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue, recognition and international collaboration among an esteemed community of global leaders and professionals.

Ambassador Alain St.Ange, who served successfully as Seychelles' Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine, has in recent years become an increasingly recognised personality on the international Speaker's Circuit. His work as a tourism speaker and advocate has taken him to conferences and international gatherings addressing tourism, destination marketing, air connectivity, sustainable development and the wider role of tourism in building bridges between nations.

His international speaking engagements were also strongly encouraged by the late Sir James Mancham, the founding President of Seychelles, himself a highly sought-after international speaker who regularly addressed global audiences on tourism, air connectivity, peace and sustainable development.

Speaking while in transit through Dubai on his way to Madrid, Ambassador St.Ange said that every international platform provides an opportunity to keep Seychelles visible within the global tourism community.

“Every time I stand to address a tourism event I know that Seychelles, as a holiday destination, benefits from added visibility that can only benefit positively to the island's tourism industry,” said Ambassador St.Ange.

The two European engagements will once again place Seychelles' tourism name and message before influential international audiences, while providing Ambassador St.Ange with an opportunity to strengthen professional relationships and promote greater dialogue and cooperation across the tourism sector.
