Alicante, Spain — Clevenard SL is proud to announce that Advocate Akampurira Godfrey of Uganda will be honoured with a distinguished Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026 – 5th Edition, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 at the prestigious Palacio de Congresos, Alicante, Spain.
A highly respected lawyer, human rights advocate, public servant, and community leader, Advocate Akampurira Godfrey has been selected for this international recognition in honour of his remarkable contributions to justice, legal advocacy, democratic accountability, public service, peacebuilding, and access to legal support for vulnerable communities.
The honorary recognition will be formally presented on Day 4 — Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition 2026, the flagship awards ceremony of the Clevenard Open Project, held alongside the International Fashion Runway. The ceremony celebrates exceptional global changemakers, public servants, thought leaders, and transformative personalities whose work continues to impact lives across borders, institutions, and generations.
In addition to receiving this prestigious honour, Advocate Akampurira Godfrey will also take the global stage as a Keynote Speaker on Day 1 – Thursday, 27 August 2026, where he will address delegates, dignitaries, educators, policymakers, youth leaders, civil society actors, business executives, and international guests from across Africa, Europe, and beyond.

Advocate Akampurira Godfrey is an accomplished Ugandan lawyer, human rights advocate, public servant, and community leader whose professional journey reflects an unwavering commitment to justice, peace, human dignity, democratic accountability, and social transformation.
With a legal career spanning litigation, human rights advocacy, election dispute resolution, corporate legal practice, legal compliance, public interest matters, and community legal empowerment, he has built a reputation as a dedicated legal practitioner and a respected voice for access to justice and the protection of fundamental rights.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM), further deepening his contribution to legal scholarship and professional excellence.
Before entering legal practice, Advocate Akampurira served internationally as a Security Specialist in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2007–2009), contributing to peace and security efforts in one of the world’s most challenging conflict environments. This unique experience strengthened his understanding of the relationship between security, justice, governance, and peacebuilding.
His public service record also includes service within the Uganda Judiciary as a Court Bailiff, after which he advanced into private legal practice, serving with established law firms before becoming a practicing advocate actively engaged in litigation, legal advisory services, dispute resolution, election petitions, and human rights representation.
Throughout his career, Advocate Akampurira has handled a broad range of legal matters, including civil litigation, election petitions, contractual disputes, corporate law, human rights cases, public interest matters, and legal compliance, making him a versatile and impactful legal professional in Uganda’s justice ecosystem.
A defining feature of his career has been his commitment to pro bono legal service. He has provided free legal representation and legal advice to indigent and vulnerable individuals across the Kampala Metropolitan Area and the Kigezi Region, ensuring that those without resources still have access to justice, legal protection, and representation.
Beyond legal practice, Advocate Akampurira has demonstrated active leadership in public affairs and civic engagement, including serving as Mainstream NRM Publicity Secretary for Kanungu District, where he has contributed to public communication, community mobilization, civic participation, and local political engagement.
A gifted communicator and public speaker, he is fluent in English, Kiswahili, Runyankore, Rukiga, Luganda, Lusoga, and Kinyarwanda, enabling him to connect with and serve diverse communities across Uganda and the wider East African region.
