The honorary award will be formally presented on Day 4 – Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the grand Clevenard Global Awards Ceremony, the flagship highlight of the Clevenard Open Project 2026, held alongside the International Fashion Runway. The ceremony brings together global leaders, diplomats, policymakers, innovators, and creatives to honour excellence across sectors that shape international development and cooperation.

ABOUT THE HONOUREE – AMBASSADOR FERDINAND O. NWONYE

Ferdinand O. Nwonye is a Nigerian career diplomat and foreign service officer with extensive experience in international relations, diplomatic communication, and bilateral representation for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He has served within Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he held key responsibilities in diplomatic reporting, public communication, and representation of Nigeria’s foreign policy positions to both domestic and international audiences.

One of his most prominent roles was serving as the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, where he acted as the primary voice of the Ministry. In this capacity, he issued official statements, clarified foreign policy matters, and engaged with the media on Nigeria’s international relations and diplomatic engagements, contributing significantly to public understanding of Nigeria’s global posture.

In addition to his headquarters role, he has served in Nigeria’s diplomatic missions abroad in various capacities, including counsellor-level postings, where he contributed to consular services, bilateral engagement, and the protection of Nigerian interests overseas. His diplomatic career reflects the structured rotation of Nigeria’s Foreign Service Officers across both headquarters and international postings.

Throughout his service, he has been actively involved in consular diplomacy, international cooperation, and intergovernmental communication, supporting Nigeria’s efforts to maintain and strengthen strategic relationships with partner nations and international organisations.

He remains a senior career officer within Nigeria’s foreign service structure, continuing to contribute to national diplomatic operations within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system.
