The honorary recognition will be formally presented on Day 4 – Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition 2026, the flagship awards ceremony of the Clevenard Open Project, held alongside the International Fashion Runway. The award celebrates visionary leaders whose work has created lasting social impact, transformed communities, and inspired positive change across generations.

In addition to receiving this distinguished recognition, Indira Melela Lubambo will take the stage as a Keynote Speaker on Day 2 (28 August 2026) during the Global Economy, Trade, Agriculture, Solid Minerals and Investment Summit.

A Life Dedicated to Empowering Children and Communities

Indira Melela Lubambo is widely recognized for her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children and disadvantaged communities throughout South Africa. She is the Founder and Chairperson of Melela4Children, Founder of Melela Kids Corner, Creator of the Melela Journal, and Founder of M&M Cellars. She also serves as a Board Member of the Community Advisory Board (CAB) supporting neuroscience development initiatives at the University of Cape Town.

In 2016, she founded Melela4Children, a transformative organization dedicated to addressing poverty, educational inequality, and emotional neglect affecting vulnerable children. Through innovative programmes and community-driven initiatives, the organization creates safe spaces where children can develop confidence, discover their talents, and cultivate the skills necessary to become future leaders.

Her passion for sustainable development extends into entrepreneurship through M&M Cellars, a business venture that combines economic empowerment with social impact, demonstrating her belief that businesses can serve as powerful instruments for community transformation.

As a member of the Community Advisory Board supporting neuroscience development initiatives at the University of Cape Town, Indira contributes to strengthening collaboration between researchers, communities, and stakeholders, ensuring that scientific advancement remains connected to real societal needs and community well-being.

A Journey of Leadership and Purpose

Born and raised in the Western Cape of South Africa, Indira's educational and professional journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to service, leadership, and empowerment.

After completing her Bookkeeping and Accounting studies at Boston Business College, she began her professional career with Duram South Africa before advancing into the banking sector at Rand Merchant Bank. She later joined PetroSA as a Procurement Officer, where she further developed expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, procurement management, and organizational leadership.

Today, she continues to lead multiple initiatives that advance education, entrepreneurship, child development, scientific engagement, and community empowerment, while inspiring others to create meaningful and lasting change.
