Clevenard to Honour Ms. Paulina Mbala Elago at the 2026 Clevenard Open Project & Clevenard Global Awards in Alicante, Spain

The honorary recognition will be formally presented on Day 4 — Sunday, 30 August 2026 — during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition, the flagship awards ceremony held alongside the International Fashion Runway. This prestigious ceremony celebrates global leaders whose influence transcends borders, institutions, and generations.

In addition to receiving this distinguished award, Ms. Elago will deliver a keynote address on Day 2 (28 August 2026) during the Global Economy, Trade, Solid Minerals, Agriculture & Investment Summit, sharing her insights on “Advancing Africa’s Trade Competitiveness through Regional Integration and the AfCFTA”.

About Ms. Paulina Mbala Elago

Ms. Paulina Mbala Elago is a distinguished Namibian trade economist and development leader with over 25 years of experience in international trade, regional integration, and economic development. She served as Executive Secretary of SACU from 2014, guiding the world’s oldest customs union through critical policy reforms, regional integration initiatives, and trade facilitation programs that strengthened economic cooperation across Southern Africa.

Throughout her career, Ms. Elago has held pivotal roles including Chief Trade Negotiator for Namibia, Tanzania Country Director for TradeMark East Africa (TMEA), and Economic Adviser at the Commonwealth Secretariat, delivering multi-donor trade and development programs across Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. She has extensive experience negotiating regional and multilateral trade agreements, advising governments on trade competitiveness, and implementing infrastructure and policy reforms that promote economic growth.

A passionate advocate for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Ms. Elago continues to provide strategic guidance to governments, international organisations, and development programs on trade policy, investment facilitation, and regional integration. Her expertise spans trade policy, diplomacy, project management, investment reforms, and cross-cultural leadership, making her a trusted advisor and recognized thought leader in advancing Africa’s trade and economic development agenda.

Currently, Ms. Elago serves as an International Trade and Development Adviser and Consultant, leveraging her extensive experience to drive sustainable growth, economic competitiveness, and inclusive development across Africa and beyond.
