Clément Muya Muboyayi, a distinguished serving Senator of the Democratic Republic of Congo, renowned lawyer, legislator, and public policy expert, will be honoured with a Prestigious Honorary Award at the 2026 Clevenard Open Project, scheduled from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos, Alicante, Spain.

Hon. Muya Muboyayi has dedicated over two decades to advancing legal frameworks, governance, and public policy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His tenure as a Senator underscores his pivotal role in shaping national legislation and regional cooperation. Within the Senate, he currently serves as Rapporteur of the Commission on Environment and Sustainable Development, Senate Delegate to the SADC Parliamentary Forum, and Member of the Executive Committee of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), where he has championed transparency, sustainable development, and responsible resource management.

In addition to receiving this prestigious recognition, Hon. Muya Muboyayi will deliver a Keynote Address on Day 2 — Friday, 28 August 2026, during the Clevenard Summit on Global Economy, Solid Minerals, Trade, Agriculture & Investment Development. His keynote will highlight the importance of good governance, strategic legislation, and regional collaboration in driving Africa’s economic growth and sustainable development.

About Hon. Clément Muya Muboyayi

Hon. Muya Muboyayi is widely recognized for his exceptional expertise in law, public administration, and policy formulation. He holds a Bachelor’s and Undergraduate Degree in Public Law from the University of Kinshasa, complemented by an Advanced Diploma in Strategy and Defense Studies (CHESD). He has participated in multiple international legal forums, including the UIA Congresses in Portugal, Spain, Hungary, and South Africa, where he represented the DRC with distinction.

Before entering the Senate, he served as Principal Political Advisor to the First President of the Court of Cassation and as Legal Assistant to the Minister of Information and Government Spokesperson, demonstrating his profound understanding of both governance and legislative processes. With over 15 years of legal practice before the Kinshasa/Matete Court of Appeal, he has built a reputation as a thoughtful, analytical, and solution-oriented leader committed to public service, justice, and sustainable development.

As a multilingual communicator, fluent in French, Tshiluba, Lingala, and competent in English and Swahili, he continues to influence national dialogue and international collaboration, championing governance reforms, human rights, and environmental stewardship.
