Among the prestigious nominees is Emmanuel Frimpong, a highly respected tourism consultant, analyst, academic, and international thought leader whose work continues to shape Africa’s tourism and hospitality landscape. As President and Founder of the Africa Tourism Research Network (ATRN), Mr. Frimpong has spent decades building bridges across sectors to create sustainable, ethical, and responsible tourism practices that benefit both people and the planet.

A passionate advocate for education and youth empowerment, Emmanuel lectures at Ghana’s Hotel, Catering and Tourism Training Institute (HOTCATT) under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, while also mentoring the next generation of tourism professionals. His experience spans executive leadership, policy advocacy, curriculum development, and high-level advisory roles, including:

• Honorary Director General, African Continent – Global Alliance for Ecotourism & Sustainable Tourism (GAEST).
• Board Chair – Kids in Tourism, Ghana.
• Global Ambassador for Tourism Education & Research – Africa Tourism Board.

An accomplished scholar, Emmanuel holds a BA in Economics, an MBA in Corporate & International Finance (University of Leicester, UK), a Diploma in Hospitality Management, an MSc in Tourism Management (awaiting graduation), and numerous specialized certifications.

He has represented Africa’s tourism sector on major platforms, delivering keynote speeches and moderating high-level discussions for organizations such as the African Union (AU), South African Tourism, and international conferences in Rwanda and beyond. His expertise extends to TVET curriculum design, policy and advocacy in agritourism, integration of artificial intelligence in tourism, and building stronger public-private sector ecosystems across the continent.

At the heart of Emmanuel’s mission is the belief that Africa’s tourism potential must be inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready — with empowered young people driving innovation and growth. His leadership at ATRN is shaping the industry’s next chapter, ensuring Africa is not only a destination of choice but also a model of ethical and responsible tourism worldwide.
