This landmark event brings together visionaries—entrepreneurs, creatives, public servants, and thought leaders—from around the world to celebrate those who redefine impact through leadership, courage, and service. Among this year’s distinguished nominees is Mr. Guy Djoken, recognized for his outstanding contributions to global peace, human rights, education, and social justice.

Championing Global Justice & Empowerment

Mr. Guy Djoken serves as:

  • President of the U.S. Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers & Associations (USA FCUCA)
  • Permanent Representative of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs (WFUCA) to the United Nations (UNDPI & ECOSOC)
  • Executive Director of the UNESCO Center for Peace

His work spans continents and sectors. As a passionate advocate for civil and human rights, he has addressed audiences at leading institutions including Harvard University, Sorbonne University in Paris, Renmin University in Beijing, Tokyo’s University of Tsukuba, and Jilin HuaQiao University in China. He currently serves as Visiting Professor at the latter two universities and contributes as a commissioner on the Maryland Governor’s Commission on African Affairs.

Mr. Djoken’s career is defined by a central mission: planting seeds of peace in the minds of youth worldwide and nurturing a generation committed to diplomatic dialogue, intercultural understanding, and community-building.

Award-Winning Leadership & Impact

  • As President of the Frederick County NAACP (2004–2016), he has been credited with restoring the branch’s reputation. His transformative work was featured in the Washington Post article: “African Civil Rights Activist Strives to Repair NAACP.”
  • He later served as Vice President of the Maryland State NAACP, demonstrating strong leadership and community impact across civic platforms.
  • In 2007, he received the Citigroup Community Partner Award (Maryland), honoring his commitment to uplifting underserved communities.
  • In 2014, Mr. Djoken was honored with the Nikola Tesla Global Forum White Dove Award in Serbia, recognizing his global peace efforts and intellectual advocacy—the award traditionally reserved for global leaders and changemakers.

UNESCO Legacy & Global Diplomacy

  • As Chairman of the U.S. Working Group for UNESCO Clubs, he led the United States' reintegration into the global UNESCO Clubs community at the 8th World Congress in Vietnam (2011).
  • In 2012, he facilitated U.S. membership in the European and North American Federation of UNESCO Clubs at their annual meeting in Romania.
  • In 2014, he hosted over 250 international delegates at the WFUCA Executive Board Meeting and International Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
  • He has delivered keynote addresses at events such as the Global Negotiation Program in Tsukuba, Japan and commemorations including the 20th Anniversary of the Maastricht Treaty of the European Union in Italy.
