About Kunle Tatafo

Born in the heart of Lagos in the early 1970s, Kunle Tatafo is a native of Ijaiye Ogba in Agege Local Government Area. He grew up in the bustling Alaagomeji area of Yaba, where his humor and creativity were shaped by a richly cultural environment. He is the fifth child in a large and loving family.

His educational journey began at Lady-Lak Institute Primary School, followed by St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka, where he first discovered his gift for public speaking and entertainment. Driven by a passion for media and storytelling, Kunle earned his HND in Mass Communication from the prestigious Auchi Polytechnic, and furthered his education with a professional diploma in Branding and Advertising Production from APCON (now ARCON).

A Legacy of Laughter and Excellence

With a career that officially launched in 1998, Kunle Tatafo has since become a comedy powerhouse. He first made waves performing at campus events and later transformed his passion into a full-fledged professional career. Today, he is recognized for his clean, witty, and culturally enriching brand of humor—a rare and refreshing voice in the entertainment industry.

His ability to connect with diverse audiences has made him a top choice for corporate events, government functions, church programs, and international comedy tours. From Lagos to London, Port Harcourt to Dubai, Kunle Tatafo has proudly represented Nigerian comedy across six countries, sharing stages with Africa’s most elite entertainers.

Government and Corporate Recognition

Between 2007 and 2015, Kunle served as one of the official MCs at the Rivers State Government House, a role that demanded not only talent but diplomacy, discretion, and class. His consistency, decency, and professionalism have earned him numerous accolades, including the coveted Most Outstanding Comedian Award in 2005.

He is a founding member of Funky 4, one of Nigeria’s longest-running radio satire groups, delighting audiences with sharp-witted commentary and socio-political humor for over 21 years.

Though Lagosian by birth, Kunle Tatafo has made an indelible impact in Rivers State, where he resides. He has spearheaded multiple development projects, offered mentorship to aspiring entertainers, and supported community upliftment initiatives. His philanthropic work recently earned him a distinguished Community Leadership Award from the Paramount Ruler of the Rumuomoi Community.
