About Hilda Dokubo

Early Life and Education

Born in Buguma, Rivers State, Nigeria, Hilda Dokubo was raised in a family that deeply valued education, innovation, and service. As the eldest of six siblings, she learned leadership and responsibility early. Her father, an engineer, and her mother, a school teacher, instilled in her a passion for excellence. She attended St. Mary State School and Government Girls Secondary School before pursuing Theatre Arts at the University of Port Harcourt, where she earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Career Highlights

Dokubo's acting journey began during her NYSC service with the 1992 classic Evil Passion. Since then, she has graced the screen with memorable performances in over 30 acclaimed films, including End of the Wicked, Gone Forever, My Good Will, Stigma, and The CEO. Her dynamic ability to portray complex emotions and powerful narratives made her a Nollywood legend.

Her performances have earned her awards at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and the Abuja International Film Festival, solidifying her place among Africa's finest.

Advocacy and Social Impact

Beyond the limelight, Hilda is a fierce champion of women's rights, youth empowerment, and social reform. She founded the Centre for Creative Arts Education (CREATE), leveraging the arts to nurture leadership, confidence, and economic empowerment among Nigeria's marginalized populations.

Her activism includes leading protests against gender-based violence, participating in the historic End SARS movement for police reform, and fighting for ethical leadership within the entertainment industry.
