About Alhaji Akanni Olayinka Quadri

Alhaji Akanni Olayinka Quadri (born September 6, 1959) is a renowned Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer, and director. Born and raised on Lagos Island, Lagos State, Yinka Quadri is a native of Oro, Kwara State. He holds a revered title as the Agba Akin of Oro Kingdom and is the President and Co-Founder of the esteemed theatre group Odunfa Caucus, based in Ebute-Meta, Lagos State.

Early Life and Education

Yinka Quadri, of Igbomina descent, was born into a middle-class family and attended St. Catholic School, Idumagbo for his primary education and Christ High School, Ebute Elefun for his secondary education, both in Lagos.

Career

Yinka Quadri’s journey into acting began in 1976 when he and his close friends, including Taiwo Olayinka, formed the Afopina Theatre Group. Since then, he has made an indelible mark on the Nigerian film industry, especially in Yoruba cinema, starring in over 90 films. His debut television series Agbodorogun launched him into the spotlight.

On April 27, 2014, he celebrated his 36th year in the Nigerian film industry by launching his biography, "Yinka Quadri: Scent of a Legend", chronicling his remarkable journey and contributions to African storytelling.
