Babajide’s editorial journey began at PM NEWS, a vibrant Lagos-based evening newspaper, where he became Editor in August 1999. Under his stewardship, PM NEWS thrived, adapting seamlessly to the demands of the new millennium. In 2005, he transitioned to The NEWS Magazine as Editor, further enhancing his reputation for journalistic excellence, sharp editorial instincts, and a masterful command of language.

Transition to Broadcast Media

After a distinguished 16-year career as a title editor, Babajide joined TVC NEWS on May 30, 2013, as Home News Editor. His mission was to transform the channel's local news coverage, ensuring it consistently delivered breaking news ahead of competitors. His impact was swift and significant: TVC’s 10 PM news bulletin soon became one of the most highly rated in Nigeria.

In October 2014, he was appointed the inaugural Head of Station for the newly launched TVC NEWS Nigeria. Despite fierce competition, Babajide’s visionary leadership guided the station to win the prestigious Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA) for Television Station of the Year 2018 — a historic first for TVC Communications.
