Alain St. Ange Travels to Kazakhstan on a Tourism Mission

Tourism Consultant Alain St. Ange, who leads the Seychelles-based Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy, will depart the Seychelles on Thursday, November 21st, for a four-day mission to Kazakhstan. He has been invited by VisitAlmaty, the Almaty Tourism Department, to participate in a tourism event hosted annually by this government body. The event brings together speakers from influential organizations across the global community.

The primary audience consists of managers from various tourism-related sectors within the government, including tourist police, rescue services, destination management, customs, and border security. These officials are tasked with training their staff to effectively engage with tourists, ensuring that Kazakhstan is seen as an attractive destination.

“We are expecting around 300 delegates, potentially with a slight increase, who will be split into 10 groups of 30 people each. The attendees already understand tourism in general, but Kazakhstan is a new destination, so it’s crucial that we learn how to engage with foreigners properly,” said the event organizers.

When briefed about the mission, Alain St. Ange, former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine of the Seychelles, was informed that the goal is to strengthen understanding of international standards and their importance in the hospitality industry. The focus will be on creating a “friendly” environment for international visitors, training staff on behavioral norms, and promoting Kazakhstan as a welcoming tourist destination.

As Alain St. Ange prepared for his trip, he expressed his excitement: “This will be my first visit to this vast country, and I’m looking forward to discovering it. It will be a valuable learning experience as I embark on this practical, training-focused mission.”
