Adry Santana - Presenter of the COP Fashion and Music Awards 2024

Adry Santana has been appointed as the main presenter for the COP Fashion and Music Awards 2024, and she will be responsible for overseeing both the registration and planning of the event.

Who is Adry Santana?

Adriana Santana González, born in Paysandú, Uruguay, on March 7, 1966, comes from a family of musicians, with her mother being the renowned Río de la Plata tango singer, Orquídea del Río (stage name).

In her home, everyone learned to play musical instruments, and Adriana was no exception, excelling in piano, guitar, ballet, and Latin dances. She earned her degree as a professor of civilization and singing under the guidance of Maestro Pintos, beginning her singing career at the age of 14. Additionally, she entered the world of fashion, modeling in Europe and America, after studying modeling in Brazil at the Valeria do Canto Maciel institute, where she also earned her teaching credentials.

Adry worked for 14 years as a teacher for children in the municipalities of Paysandú and Maldonado (Punta del Este, Uruguay), while also singing as a soloist in the municipal bands of both cities. She was invited to join the show orchestra directed by Maestro Mario Maldonado, conductor of the Montevideo symphonic band.

In the audiovisual realm, she participated in the series "Curro Jiménez: La Última Jugada" in Piriápolis, Uruguay. She also worked as a model on Punta del Este's Channel 11 and appeared in commercials for well-known brands, including the famous Chajá dessert in Paysandú.

In 1994, the Uruguayan government and UPC invited her to Japan as part of a cultural exchange, where she performed for a month. Later, she worked at the Conrad Hotel and Casino in Punta del Este, performing bolero duets with Armando Manzanero during the venue's inauguration.

José Luis Rodríguez "El Puma" invited her to join his team in Miami during a tour in Uruguay, where she became the lead voice of his singing and dancing troupe for several years. After her time in Florida, she recorded a demo for Sony Argentina and worked for Telefe, where she was invited to participate in numerous theatrical and musical productions.

Since 2004, Adry has resided in Mallorca, where she sings with the group Los Bravos, becoming the first and only woman in the band's history. She continues to perform across Europe and is the president of the Uruguay Music, Art, and Culture Association, as well as the secretary of FIME (Ibero-American Federation in Mallorca, Spain).

Adry Santana remains active in social causes and charitable events both in Mallorca and abroad, with a musical career spanning 37 years. This month, she released her song "La Salsa de la Vida," written by the Spanish composer Chema Purón, known for hits such as "Agárrense de las manos" by El Puma.

She organizes internationally significant events, such as the 100th anniversary celebration of the Uruguayan tango "La Cumparsita," tributes to poet Mario Benedetti, and events honoring Candombe, which she has been hosting in Mallorca for the past 19 years.
