Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza Appointed Chairperson of the Uganda Tourism Board

The Uganda Tourism Minister, Hon. Tom R. Butime, Minister for Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, has appointed Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza as the new Chairperson of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza's appointment was marked by her presence alongside the Vice President of Uganda and other esteemed ministers at the Official Opening Ceremony of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), East Africa's premier tourism event.

Born to Noella Hoareau (née Figaro) and Jean Hoareau, who relocated from the Seychelles to Uganda in 1958, Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza is deeply rooted in Uganda, where she and her siblings were born and raised. Her mother Noella and father Jean married in Uganda in 1959, establishing a long-standing connection to the country.

Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza brings a wealth of experience to her new role, serving as the Managing Director and Owner of FCM Travel Solutions, a prominent tour and travel agency based in Kampala. Additionally, she is the Chairperson of The Uganda Association of Travel Agents.

During the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo, Alain St.Ange, President of the African Tourism Board (ATB) and former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports, and Marine of the Seychelles, met with Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza in Kampala. He extended his congratulations on her new appointment and assured her of the ATB's support throughout her tenure.

Pearl Hoareau-Kakooza's leadership is expected to bring innovative insights and strategic direction to the Uganda Tourism Board, fostering growth and elevating Uganda's profile as a top tourist destination in Africa.
