Wolfgang Thome, the veteran Tourism Journalist of Uganda welcomes Alain St.Ange to his Kampala home

Wolfgang Thome, the veteran tourism journalist of Uganda, welcomed Alain St.Ange to his Kampala home. St.Ange, a Seychelles tourism consultant, is in Uganda this week for the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE). The two, long-time friends, have consistently followed each other's work and involvement in tourism.

The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is considered East Africa's premier tourism event. St.Ange, who is the former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports, and Marine for Seychelles, is attending the expo at the invitation of Tom R. Butime, Uganda's Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities. He will be joining other members of the African Tourism Board's delegation for this significant event.

St.Ange, the founding President of the African Tourism Board, now heads "Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy." His consultancy works with Tourism Boards and Ministries of Tourism in Africa and the ASEAN bloc, focusing on re-evaluating tourism as a vital economic industry and enhancing the visibility of tourism destinations to remain competitive in their primary markets.

Wolfgang Thome and his wife Esther warmly received St.Ange at their Kampala home. "It was so nice to catch up with a great friend and enjoy their family hospitality. We reminisced about our various meetings over the years, with a special focus on the current state of tourism," said Alain St.Ange. He added that the years of experience of key tourism players should never be overlooked.
