GODWIN OBASEKI'S PROJECTS OF PATRIMONY, AGRICULTURAL HUB
In the modest and shy compound of the Edo State Agriculture Development Programme is a new agitating entrant. It is an immense structural imposition that has finally been able to drive home the statement Governor Obaseki has been trying to make about the superlative place of Agric and Agro business economy in Edo State's developmental march to a sub-regional economic giant! The huge estate would have been daunting enough without the even more overwhelming transactions expected to be happening inside it soon enough. For instance, one has got to concede that the $660m investment in Edo State Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP), by the Obaseki administration looks very deserving of such a structural magnificence.
Obviously, this good thing can only get better with a blazing new partnership that is value-adding a 15,000 hectares of oil palm to the already existing 60,000 hectares ongoing; this includes soybeans, seed oil crops, an edible oil refinery of 15,000 bottling line per hour, and an animal feed processing facility, all firing from all cylinders. You don't need to be clairvoyant to see that ESOPP is no doubts heading for the global market. Clearly, better things are heading for the best for Edo citizens, who are in line for a targeted new 10,000 direct jobs and over 15,000 indirect ones, in addition, of course, to the present staff figures. If you think this is getting too good to be true, then you must think that Canada based Sunita Foods has just partnered with ESOPP to play around. The reality below may jog your attention to palm oil market share in the world's economy! Governor Obaseki is prescient!
