Lucky escape for 34 passengers and crew as bodged landing in Mogadishu wrecks the plane

An Embraer 120 Brasilia turboprop aircraft, owned and operated by Halla Airlines, crashed upon landing in Mogadishu. The aircraft, registered as 6O-AAD – no other details like MSN and first flight date presently available – came from Garowe on a domestic flight with 30 passengers and 4 crew on board.

Upon landing, according to reports, did the aircraft veer off the runway and then spun before hitting a concrete perimeter wall.

Upon impact were several passengers injured and the aircraft broke in sections, destroying it. No fire broke out and airport emergency services were swiftly at hand to evacuate passengers.
