The daily occurences in the Nigerian state as witnessed by many, is a huge cause for concern as it relates to leadership failure by elected and appointed representatives. The situation in the Nigerian state has made many observers including stakeholders, view the country as a failed state.

This can be linked to the heightening reports of corruption that pervades virtually every fabric of the society. The display of corruptive opulence, even in a state where the leader is touted to be a no tolerant anti corruption Czar makes even the blind wonder how such brazen display of corruption and its tolerance is managed.

One of Africa's pride; an Amazon who is globally recognized and respected, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala who has served diligently as Nigeria's Coordinating Minister of Economy and Minister for Finance, during the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, says it all.

Her stint as Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Finance Minister, brought about tremendous gains to the Nigerian economic growth but all of that were destroyed within a short spell. In several fora, Okonjo-Iweala has talked about the challenges in governance including corruption issues.

The video clip below, is a classic example of bitter and terrible experience of being in a position of leadership in a failed nation state called Nigeria.

Ironically, and despite all the indices by Organization like Transparency International that is pointing to the fact that there are monumental corruptions under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, many Nigerians are still living in the illusion that the country under the leadership of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is more corrupt than the present Muhammadu Buhari administration.

The question is, unlike Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who stood against the wicked hands of corruption as viciously demonstrated by the evil cartel in the oil marketing companies to siphone huge amount of money meant for oil subsidy under former Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration, who is playing that role in the current administration?

Are we not trapped in the vicious circle of corruption considering the many corrupt activities been perpetrated by officials in this present government?

Yes, from Kemi Adeosun's alleged certificate scandal to the current Minister of Finance that failed woefully to give a judicious account of all the palliative measures that were meant to alleviate the pains and sufferings of ordinary citizens during the most difficult days of COVID19 pandemic in the year 2020.

Is it the bizarre and endless lists of corruption that is now the norm in the current Buhari administration that we even want to talk about?

While on the issue of corruption in the regime of the retired Army General, one must also recall the huge charges of corruption against the likes of Timipreye Sylva, the incumbent Minister of State, Petroleum Resources and Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Minister in charge of the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry in charge of corruption ridden Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC where corruption stands on its head. Where has it all ended? The cases were all swept under the carpet just as rightly described by the former national chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who, on national television said "if you come to APC, all of your sins shall be forgiven".

The corruption in the NDDC as at today, assumed a very frightening dimension with allegations flying all around of billions of naira frittered away.

What a corrupt government indeed!

Moreover, the painful experience of Professor Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is one of nightmare of standing for truth and justice in a contraption called Nigeria.

Would you have done thing differently if you found yourself in this kind of desperate and painful scenario or what would have been your decision in a dangerous dilemma like this?

Prejudice apart, only a few will choose nationhood above personal interest in today Nigeria.

Suffice it to say that, this is a true acid test of leadership and how many of our leaders today can cross the hurdle of this daunting challenge?

Methink choosing between nationhood and your biological mother should be the greatest dilemma for any leader in the world.

Professor Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is truly a patriot. Who in the world will doubt the unblemished track record of her astute leadership and integrity?

In addition, in a banana republic like Nigeria, it is not only your life as activist or freedom fighter in serious danger but the lives of many who are closed family members are equally in danger.

To lend credence to the fact that as a freedom fighter or activist in Nigeria, your family members are prone to threats to their dear lives. Few days ago the younger brother of Comrade Omoyele Showore, a freedom fighter and a powerful voice in the struggle for the emancipation of Nigeria masses was brutally murdered by the marauders.

WHO KILLED COMRADE OLAJIDE SHOWORE???

Yes, the cabal or cartel will do anything including kidnapping, maiming and killing to break every hand that endeavor to uphold the pillar of justice in today Nigeria.

Nigeria is a "free-for-all" and a terrible country indeed!

In summary, I doff my hat for Professor Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for her uncompromising stance and outstanding performance as minister of finance under both former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan respectfully.

We are proud of you and history will be fair to you.

AGAIN, WHO KILLED COMRADE OLAJIDE SOWORE???

Only Time Will Tell!!
