TORREMOLINOS, MÁLAGA, SPAIN — 3 OCTOBER 2026 — Clevenard is pleased to announce the appointment of His Royal Majesty Dr. Mwanta Ishima Sanken'i VI, Traditional Ruler of Zambezi, Zambia, as a Global Ambassador of the Clevenard Open Project 2027.
The appointment builds on His Majesty's existing relationship with Clevenard and follows his distinguished participation in the Clevenard Open Project 2026 in Alicante, Spain, where he was honoured with a Clevenard Global Award and delivered a keynote address on traditional governance, peacebuilding and the future of African cultural leadership.
FROM HONOURED GUEST TO GLOBAL AMBASSADOR
HRM Dr. Mwanta Ishima Sanken'i VI was a distinguished participant at the Clevenard Open Project 2026, held from 27–30 August 2026 in Alicante, Spain.
On 29 August 2026, His Majesty delivered a keynote address titled:
“Traditional Governance, Peacebuilding, and the Future of African Cultural Leadership.”
His participation brought an important perspective on the role of traditional institutions in contemporary African development, cultural preservation, peacebuilding and community leadership.
On 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition, His Majesty was formally presented with an Honorary Award in recognition of his leadership and contribution to peacebuilding, cultural heritage and community development.
His speech and participation became part of the recorded Clevenard Open Project 2026 programme, further documenting his contribution to the international platform.
A DISTINGUISHED TRADITIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEADER
HRM Dr. Mwanta Ishima Sanken'i VI is a traditional ruler, historian, educator, entrepreneur and peace advocate whose work connects African traditional leadership with contemporary development and international engagement.
His leadership interests and activities include:
- Peace and conflict resolution
- Cultural preservation and heritage
- Education and youth empowerment
- Community development
- Entrepreneurship and economic empowerment

His Majesty also holds leadership positions including Chairman of the Association for Chiefs for World Peace and Development (UPF), Secretary General of the Forum of African Traditional Authorities (FATA) and Vice President of the Africa Kingdom Transformation Global Convention (AFRIKINGDOM GC). He also serves as Secretary General of the Chiefs Foundation for Rural Development Zambia Ltd.
APPOINTED GLOBAL AMBASSADOR
As a Global Ambassador of the Clevenard Open Project, His Royal Majesty will contribute to Clevenard's international engagement and support the development of relationships with leaders, traditional institutions, organisations, communities and development stakeholders across Africa and internationally.
His areas of engagement will include:

- Peacebuilding and conflict resolution
- Cultural diplomacy and heritage
- Community and rural development

The Global Ambassador role provides a platform for international representation, relationship-building and collaboration while supporting Clevenard's broader mission of connecting people, institutions, sectors and opportunities across borders.
CONTINUING THE JOURNEY FROM ALICANTE TO TORREMOLINOS
His Majesty's appointment represents a continuation of the relationship established at the Clevenard Open Project 2026 in Alicante.
Having participated in the 2026 edition as a keynote speaker and award recipient, HRM Dr. Mwanta Ishima Sanken'i VI now joins the Clevenard International Ambassadorial Programme as a Global Ambassador for the Clevenard Open Project 2027.
The appointment further strengthens the connection between Clevenard and traditional leadership networks across Africa and creates opportunities for continued dialogue around culture, leadership, peace, development and international cooperation.
CLEVEnARD OPEN PROJECT 2027
The Clevenard Open Project 2027 will take place from 22–25 June 2027 at the Palacio de Congresos de Torremolinos, Málaga, Spain.
Under the motto:
PRESENT. PROMOTE. CONNECT. COLLABORATE.
The four-day international platform will bring together distinguished leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, academics, government and diplomatic representatives, creatives, innovators and organisations from different sectors and regions of the world.
The 2027 programme will feature platforms covering education, authors and publishing, global economy, trade, agriculture, investment, tourism, international film, fashion, culture and international collaboration.
