TORREMOLINOS, MÁLAGA, SPAIN — Clevenard is pleased to officially announce the appointment of H.E. Ambassador Robert Seraki Matsebe as a Global Ambassador of the Clevenard Open Project 2027.

The appointment forms part of the continuing development of the Clevenard International Ambassadorial Programme, an international network being progressively established to bring together distinguished leaders, professionals, diplomats, experts and global connectors whose experience, knowledge and international relationships can contribute to meaningful dialogue, collaboration and opportunities across continents.

Ambassador Matsebe brings extensive experience in diplomacy, international relations, public diplomacy, protocol management, cultural engagement and international cooperation.

He previously served as South Africa's Head of Mission to Taiwan from 2017 to 2021, where his work included bilateral relations, cultural and educational cooperation, trade engagement and people-to-people diplomacy. Following his diplomatic posting, he contributed to public diplomacy and international affairs in South Africa.

His professional experience also includes work in diplomatic protocol and international engagement, including responsibilities connected with the State Protocol Lounges at OR Tambo International Airport.

GLOBAL AMBASSADOR — DIPLOMACY, INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS & CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT

As a Global Ambassador of the Clevenard Open Project 2027, Ambassador Matsebe will contribute to Clevenard's international representation and relationship-building efforts through his experience in diplomacy, international relations, cultural engagement and global networking.

His role may include:

  1. Representing Clevenard through appropriate international and professional networks.
  2. Supporting relationships between Clevenard and international institutions, organisations and professional communities.
  3. Contributing to international dialogue on diplomacy, governance, human rights, culture and international cooperation.
  4. Facilitating appropriate introductions and connections between Clevenard and potential international partners.
  5. Participating in selected Clevenard conferences, discussions, interviews and international engagements.
  6. Supporting connections between Africa, Europe and other international communities.
  7. Contributing professional perspectives to Clevenard's international programmes and initiatives.

The Global Ambassador role is designed around international representation, relationship-building, knowledge exchange and meaningful contribution. It does not constitute a governmental or diplomatic appointment and does not confer authority to represent the Government of the Republic of South Africa.

Any participation in Clevenard activities will remain subject to Ambassador Matsebe's professional responsibilities and any applicable institutional requirements.

A CONTINUING RELATIONSHIP WITH CLEVEnARD

Ambassador Matsebe's appointment builds upon an existing relationship with Clevenard.

At the Clevenard Open Project 2026 in Alicante, Spain, he delivered a keynote address during the Global Tourism & International Film Celebration on the theme:

“Global Governance, Human Rights, and Cultural Diplomacy: Building Bridges Across Nations.”

He was also recognised by Clevenard during the 2026 programme, making his appointment to the 2027 International Ambassadorial Programme a continuation of his engagement with the Clevenard platform.

Clevenard has subsequently featured his address from the 2026 Open Project as part of its international media content.

Clevenard established its International Ambassadorial Programme to develop a structured international network based on experience, knowledge, professional standing, international relationships and meaningful contribution.

The 6th Edition of the Clevenard Open Project will take place from 22–25 June 2027 in Torremolinos, Málaga, Spain.

The 2027 programme will incorporate four major Clevenard platforms:
