Clevenard is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi, mni, as a Global Ambassador of the Clevenard Open Project 2027.
The appointment forms part of the continuing development of the Clevenard International Ambassadorial Programme, an international network being progressively established to bring together distinguished leaders, professionals, experts and global connectors whose experience, knowledge and international relationships can contribute to meaningful dialogue, collaboration and opportunities across continents.
Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi, mni, brings extensive experience in public administration, institutional leadership, economic planning, policy coordination, governance, strategic management and national development.
His appointment adds an important public-sector and institutional dimension to Clevenard’s growing international network.
A DISTINGUISHED CAREER IN PUBLIC SERVICE
Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi, mni, is a Nigerian public administrator and trained dental surgeon who has built a distinguished career in public service and strategic administration.
He currently serves as Permanent Secretary of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having assumed the position in December 2025 following his redeployment from the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Prior to his current assignment, Dr. Obi served as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, from May 2025 to December 2025. During his tenure, he was involved in matters relating to energy-sector governance, stakeholder engagement, policy coordination and institutional administration.
He previously served as Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Budget & Economic Planning, from August 2024 to May 2025, where his responsibilities included national budget coordination, economic planning and public financial management.
His professional background therefore brings together an unusual combination of healthcare, public administration, economic policy, institutional management and strategic leadership.
Dr. Obi is also a Member of the National Institute (mni), having attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, one of Nigeria’s leading institutions for policy and strategic studies.

Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi is not new to the Clevenard platform.
In 2026, Clevenard announced that Dr. Obi would be honoured at the 5th Edition of the Clevenard Open Project and 3rd Edition of the Clevenard Global Awards in Alicante, Spain. He was also scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the Global Economy, Trade, Investment & Sustainable Development Summit.
His planned keynote topic was:
“Innovation, Policy Coherence and Institutional Excellence: Foundations for Africa’s Economic Renaissance.”
That engagement reflected the relevance of his professional experience to Clevenard’s wider objective of creating platforms where leadership, policy, business, investment and international cooperation can meet.
The 2027 Global Ambassador appointment represents a further development of that relationship.
A ROLE WITH AN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE
The Clevenard Global Ambassador position is designed to facilitate international dialogue, professional connections, knowledge exchange and visibility for areas of shared interest.
As part of the programme, Global Ambassadors may contribute their professional perspectives, participate in selected Clevenard initiatives and help strengthen relationships between people, institutions, industries and international communities.
The appointment does not constitute a governmental or diplomatic appointment and does not confer authority to represent the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any participation by Dr. Obi in Clevenard activities will remain subject to his professional responsibilities, applicable regulations and any relevant institutional requirements.
