His Excellency currently serves as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Spain, representing the Government and people of Nigeria while strengthening diplomatic relations, promoting bilateral trade and investment, facilitating economic cooperation, supporting educational partnerships, encouraging cultural exchange, and advancing Nigeria's foreign policy objectives throughout the Kingdom of Spain.

Academic Excellence and Scientific Achievement

Before entering public office, Dr. Ikpeazu established an outstanding academic career built upon scientific excellence.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, a Master of Science in Biochemistry Toxicology, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemical Pharmacology. Throughout his academic career, he served as a lecturer, researcher, Head of Department, university administrator, and external examiner, making significant contributions to scientific education and research.

An internationally respected scholar, he has authored and co-authored more than ninety peer-reviewed scientific publications, numerous conference papers, scholarly articles and books in the fields of biochemistry, toxicology, environmental science, pharmacology, molecular biology, nutrition and public health.

His work has contributed significantly to scientific knowledge, environmental sustainability, healthcare advancement and higher education.

Distinguished Public Service

Prior to becoming Governor of Abia State, Dr. Ikpeazu held several senior public service positions where he demonstrated exceptional administrative leadership.

Among these appointments were:

• Senior Special Adviser on Environment to the Governor of Abia State
• Deputy General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA)
• General Manager, Abia State Passengers Integrated Manifest and Safety Scheme (ASPIMSS)
