Alicante, Spain – Clevenard SL is pleased to announce that distinguished South African cultural strategist, heritage advocate, journalist, and storyteller Mr. Molatelo Develd Monyai will be honoured with a prestigious Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026 – 5th Edition, scheduled to take place from 27–30 August 2026 at the renowned Palacio de Congresos Alicante, Spain.

The award will be presented during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition 2026 on Sunday, 30 August 2026, the grand finale of the four-day international event. A former journalist with more than fifteen years of experience at Midrand Reporter under Caxton Community Newspapers, he transitioned into heritage advocacy with a mission to address the underrepresentation of African stories and cultural narratives.

His work has led to the documentation and celebration of significant cultural events and historical milestones, including traditional leadership ceremonies, heritage commemorations, and cultural restoration initiatives.

  • The preservation and promotion of traditional Ndebele artistic heritage through the Nelson Mandela Heritage Project.
  • Cultural commemorations honouring King Silamba and Prince H. Malatsi Siwa.
  • Documentation of royal coronations within the Bakgatla ba Mmakau Traditional Council.
  • Ancestors Day commemorations promoting cultural remembrance and spiritual continuity.
  • The Kamoraleng Legacy Awards, which recognize outstanding contributors to African heritage and cultural development.

Mr. Monyai has received recognition for his contributions to cultural preservation and community empowerment, including being honoured as a Cultural Activist at the Mzansi Traditional and Cultural Music Awards alongside some of South Africa’s most respected indigenous music legends.

His heritage documentary, “Kamoraleng (The Hut),” received industry recognition through a nomination at the SAIFTAAS Awards, attracting international interest and helping to elevate African heritage storytelling to broader audiences.
