Clevenard to Honour Ms. Matshepo Sekgopi at the 2026 Clevenard Open Project (5th Edition) and Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition in Alicante, Spain

Alicante, Spain — Clevenard SL is proud to announce that Ms. Matshepo Sekgopi will be honoured with a prestigious Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 in Alicante, Spain.

This recognition celebrates her outstanding leadership, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, social justice, and community development across South Africa and beyond.

Honorary Award Presentation – Day 4

The honorary distinction will be formally presented on Sunday, 30 August 2026 (Day 4) during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition, the flagship ceremony of the Clevenard Open Project 2026, held alongside the International Fashion Runway.

The awards ceremony brings together global leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, creatives, and change-makers whose work continues to shape inclusive development and global collaboration.

Keynote Address – Day 1

In addition to this honour, Ms. Matshepo Sekgopi will deliver a keynote address on Day 1 – Global Authors’ Recognition & Education Summit (27 August 2026).

Keynote Topic: “Advancing Women’s Leadership, Economic Justice and Grassroots Advocacy for Sustainable Development”

Her address will focus on strengthening women’s voices in leadership spaces, expanding grassroots advocacy systems, and accelerating socio-economic transformation aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She will highlight the critical role of community-led movements in addressing inequality, gender-based violence, and economic exclusion while building sustainable pathways for women and girls.

About Ms. Matshepo Sekgopi & Her Advocacy Work

Ms. Sekgopi is widely recognised for her leadership within “I Am A Woman of Influence”, an Independent Vocal Advocacy (IVA) platform dedicated to advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls in South Africa.

The initiative works in collaboration with civil society, government institutions, and global partners to promote:

• Gender equality and women’s rights
• Economic empowerment and entrepreneurship
• Education and skills development
• Advocacy against gender-based violence (GBV)
• Youth leadership and civic participation
• Community-driven sustainable development

Inspired by the legacy of South Africa’s 1956 women’s march, the movement promotes the principle that women’s rights are central to national progress and must be represented “everywhere”—in leadership, policy, education, and economic systems.

Through its integrated programmes, I Am A Woman of Influence focuses on capacity building, mentorship, financial literacy, digital empowerment, and grassroots mobilisation to ensure long-term transformation for women and girls.
