The Hospitality Awards Africa 2026 has officially released its highly anticipated list of the Top 50 Men in Hospitality & Tourism in Africa, recognizing distinguished personalities whose contributions continue to shape and elevate the African tourism and hospitality landscape.
This year’s prestigious list celebrates visionary leaders, innovators, marketers, hoteliers, tourism executives, and destination champions from across the African continent who have demonstrated excellence, resilience, and commitment to the growth of tourism and hospitality.
Among the celebrated personalities is Alain St.Ange of Seychelles, whose inclusion on the list has been warmly welcomed across the tourism industry.
First and foremost, congratulations are extended to all 50 tourism professionals whose dedication and leadership have earned them this continental recognition.
Today, Alain St.Ange serves as the Ambassador-at-Large for Seychelles, appointed by the President of Seychelles, Dr. Patrick Herminie. He remains one of Africa’s most respected and internationally recognized tourism personalities.
A former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine of Seychelles, Alain St.Ange distinguished himself during his tenure through dynamic leadership, innovative destination marketing, and an unmatched hands-on approach to tourism development. His work helped position Seychelles among the world’s most visible and admired island tourism destinations.
His influence extended beyond Seychelles. Alain St.Ange played a pivotal role in strengthening regional tourism cooperation through the creation and promotion of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands, a strategic tourism alliance that united island nations under a shared vision of visibility and collaboration.
He is also widely credited as the driving force behind the globally acclaimed Carnaval International de Victoria, an event that significantly elevated Seychelles’ international profile and showcased the islands as a vibrant and culturally rich tourism destination.
In 2017, Seychelles nominated Alain St.Ange as its candidate for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), now known as UN Tourism — a reflection of the confidence placed in his global tourism leadership and vision.
Recognized by many as a tourism marketing guru, Alain St.Ange continues to inspire tourism stakeholders across Africa and beyond through his advocacy, mentorship, and unwavering passion for destination development.
