Alicante, Spain — Clevenard SL is proud to announce that Dr. Chinelo Nwaamaka Onwusi, Ph.D. will be honoured with a prestigious Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos Alicante.

The honorary distinction will be formally presented on Day 4 — Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition, the signature awards gala of the Clevenard Open Project. This internationally attended ceremony celebrates visionary leaders whose work shapes industries, influences societies, and contributes meaningfully to global development.

In addition to receiving her award, Dr. Onwusi will deliver a keynote address on Day 3 (29 August 2026).

About Dr. Chinelo Nwaamaka Onwusi

Dr. Chinelo Nwaamaka Onwusi, PhD, is a distinguished geoscientist and subsurface data specialist with more than two decades of impact across academia, research, consultancy, and the energy sector. Her work demonstrates exceptional mastery in petroleum geoscience, reservoir characterization, digital subsurface surveillance, and data-driven energy innovation.

She currently serves as a Subsurface Specialist at a leading oil and gas company in Sub-Saharan Africa, where she supports enterprise-level Well and Reservoir Facility Management (WRFM). Her expertise includes integrating complex subsurface and production datasets, real-time performance diagnostics, digital reporting, and advanced data governance frameworks that support both asset teams and senior leadership.

Previously, Dr. Onwusi contributed to business development at Byzantine Turnkey Ltd., where she delivered feasibility studies, feedstock assessments, and production capacity evaluations for hydrocarbon and solid mineral projects across Nigeria. Her earlier roles with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Shell-funded academic–industry collaborations, and private geoscience consultancies strengthened her profile in biostratigraphy, seismic interpretation, reservoir modelling, and applied geoscience research.

Academically, Dr. Onwusi holds a PhD in Geology and an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience (First Class Honours) from the University of Port Harcourt, where she earned recognition as a MacArthur Foundation Scholar (USA). Her research, particularly in seismic velocity modelling and reservoir volumetrics, has been published widely and cited internationally.

She has authored and co-authored numerous scientific papers covering reservoir characterization, seismic analysis, artificial lift optimization, CO₂ utilization, and advanced drilling technologies.

Dr. Onwusi has also served as a Visiting Lecturer at the Centre for Petroleum Geoscience and Renewable Energy, University of Port Harcourt, contributing to postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, mentoring, and applied research supervision.

Her international engagement includes active participation in the IEEE SkillUp Hub Region 8, where she collaborates on multidisciplinary research involving AI, smart infrastructure, cloud systems, robotics, and digital innovation across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

She is a committed member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), the African Science Frontiers Initiative (ASFI)—where she earned the Best Research Proposal Award—and the National Mining and Geoscience Society.

Beyond her technical excellence, Dr. Onwusi is widely respected for her humanitarian work and community leadership. Her lifelong commitment to social impact includes:
