Growing up near Lympne Airport in Kent, England, the roar of engines and the sight of aircraft soaring through the sky became the soundtrack of his childhood. While other children played in the streets or on bicycles, Fred gazed skyward, imagining himself in the cockpit, navigating the endless blue above.
