Clevenard to Honour HE Ambassador Seraki Matsebe at the 2026 Clevenard Open Project & Clevenard Global Awards in Alicante, Spain

Alicante, Spain — Clevenard SL is proud to announce that HE Ambassador Seraki Matsebe, Manager of State Protocol Lounges at OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa’s premier international gateway, will be honoured with a prestigious Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 5th Edition 2026, taking place from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos, Alicante, Spain.

The honorary recognition will be formally presented on Day 4 — Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition 2026, the flagship awards ceremony of the forum held alongside the International Fashion Runway. The ceremony celebrates exceptional global leaders whose influence transcends borders, institutions, and generations.

In addition to receiving this prestigious distinction, Ambassador Matsebe will deliver a keynote address on Day 3 (29 August 2026) during the Global Tourism & International Film Celebration, under the theme:

“Global Governance, Human Rights, and Cultural Diplomacy: Building Bridges Across Nations.”

HE Ambassador Seraki Matsebe is a distinguished South African diplomat and international relations expert with decades of experience in diplomacy, protocol management, and global engagement. Born in Etwatwa (now Actonville), Benoni, he pursued studies in Law and International Studies at Coventry University, UK, where he was actively involved in student leadership, advocacy, and Pan-African initiatives. During this period, he served as a spokesperson for the Vote for Freedom campaign, coordinated fundraising for South Africa’s first democratic elections, and held leadership positions in several student organizations, including the African Caribbean Students Society, the South Africa-Zimbabwe Students Front, and the World University Service, representing 52 UK universities.

Ambassador Matsebe began his professional career as a Community Legal Educator and Advisor in Ekurhuleni before joining South Africa’s Diplomatic Service. He contributed to drafting the Organization of African Unity (OAU) Election Monitoring Guidelines and fostered international partnerships, including establishing twinning relationships between South African provinces and French counterparts.

From 2017 to 2021, he served as Head of Mission to Taiwan, strengthening bilateral relations, facilitating cultural, educational, and trade cooperation, and promoting people-to-people diplomacy. Upon returning to South Africa, he joined Public Diplomacy, supporting senior government officials and the Presidency as a speechwriter and adviser on international affairs.

Currently, Ambassador Matsebe oversees the State Protocol Lounges at OR Tambo International Airport, ensuring the seamless arrival and departure of Presidents, Kings, Ministers, Chief Justices, and Heads of International Organizations, reflecting South Africa’s excellence in diplomacy, protocol, and hospitality. He also serves as Africa Diaspora Union Ambassador for SADC and an Executive Member of the South African Union Council of Independent Churches (SAUCIC), demonstrating his enduring commitment to international engagement and African diaspora leadership.
