This groundbreaking publication delves into the deeply interconnected dimensions of tourism, highlighting the essential role of collaboration, sustainability, biodiversity, and shared responsibility in shaping the future of the industry.
In this important work, DÉME pays tribute to three towering figures whose leadership has transformed African tourism: Najib Balala, Alain St.Ange, and Hamat Bah. These distinguished honourees are celebrated for their visionary leadership, Pan-African commitment, and unwavering dedication to elevating tourism across the continent.
“Their boldness, Pan-African vision, and commitment to sustainable and inclusive tourism have set a benchmark for the entire industry,” said DÉME. “Their legacy continues to inspire current and future generations of tourism professionals.”
One of the honourees, Alain St.Ange, contributes the book’s afterword, underscoring the urgency of preserving natural ecosystems as strategic assets for long-term tourism development. The book calls on policymakers, investors, and communities to champion sustainability and embrace biodiversity as a cornerstone of African tourism growth.
