Clevenard to Honour Ms Thembeka Valencia Mnisi at the 2026 Clevenard Open Project & Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition

Alicante, Spain — 2026 - Clevenard SL proudly announces that Ms Thembeka Valencia Mnisi, renowned global public leader and President of SAWIC – South African Women in Construction and Built Environment, will be honoured with a distinguished Honorary Award at the Clevenard Open Project 2026, scheduled to take place from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos, Alicante, Spain.
The honorary award will be officially presented on Day 4 — Sunday, 30 August 2026, during the Clevenard Global Awards – 3rd Edition 2026, the flagship ceremony of the Clevenard Open Project, held alongside the International Fashion Runway. This recognition celebrates global leaders whose impact transcends borders, industries, and generations.
Keynote Participation at the Clevenard Summit
In addition to receiving the honorary award, Ms Mnisi will deliver a keynote address during the Clevenard Summit on Global Economy, Solid Minerals, Trade, Agriculture & Investment Development.

Ms Thembeka Valencia Mnisi is a distinguished South African leader, entrepreneur, and advocate for gender equality, widely recognised for her commitment to women’s economic empowerment in the construction and built environment sectors.
She was born in the 1970s in Brakpan, Gauteng, and later settled in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, in 2003 to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, initially in the funeral industry. Today, she serves as the Director of Lindolwazi Trading, a dynamic company with an active construction division serving both government and private clients, while also driving humanitarian initiatives focused on vulnerable groups, youth empowerment, and gender-based violence (GBV) interventions.
Ms Mnisi has adopted Betty's Heaven Orphanage in Nelsville, contributing significantly to its development and continued upkeep.

Major Achievements During Her SAWIC Tenure
- Advocated for SAWIC members to receive empowerment opportunities from the Mpumalanga Department of Human Settlements — resulting in contracts to build housing units in Volkrust Vukuzakhe B, empowering 10 women who upgraded from CIDB Grade 1 to Grade 4.
- Supported members appointed by SANRAL/Vea for road maintenance, progressing from CE Grade 1 to CE Grade 4.
- Facilitated the successful enrolment of 6 members into the NHBRC Mentorship Programme.
- Enabled 7 SAWIC women to complete SANRAL’s NQF Level 4 construction contracting training through Tjeka Consulting.
- Organised continuous capacity-building programmes to empower women in a male-dominated construction industry.

Outreach & Community Development
Ms Mnisi leads humanitarian programmes annually, including:
Blanket donations to orphanages across Mpumalanga
Sanitary towel donations to youth and GBV victims
Renovation of the Gender-Based Violence Centre at Themba Hospital in 2022 (through SAWIC & her company)
