ESNOA CONDEMNS MILITARIZATION OF FOUR GEO-POLITICAL ZONES IN NIGERIA.

The Emancipation of Southern Nigeria and Other Allies, ESNOA has condemned, in very strong terms, the militarization and open use of "naked power" by the Nigerian Army in four geo-political zones of the country.

The group, ESNOA which is strongly involved in the advocacy for a better Nigeria, in a statement issued and signed by the trio of its National Officers; namely, the Acting National President, its Acting National Secretary and the Acting National Publicity Secretary, condemned the use of "Naked Power" by the army to conduct military operations in the south west, south east, south/south and north central.

In the statement, copies which were made available to journalists, the ESNOA said it finds the use of naked power unacceptable, the conduct of military operations in southern Nigeria and middle belt.

The group, in unequivocal terms, queried the rationale behind the military operations and asserts that such military operations are not within the limit of the functions and powers of the Nigeria army as prescribed by the 1999 constitution.

According to ESNOA, any military operations that will empower the soldiers to invade homes and private properties without a duly signed search warrant from the court of law, is illegal and must be resisted by every concerned citizen.

"This kind of military operation is ultra vire and unconstitutional", the group stated.

ESNOA, in the statement, stressed that, "In the light of this and in order to put this issue in the right perspective, there are mind boggling questions we need to ask the current administration".

The group threw up five questions that needed to be answered, which are as follows; One, is there not a sinister motive behind a military operation that only involved sections of the country that are antithetical to the policies of Buhari administration?

Two, is the rising surge of insecurities in the north east and north west not far worst than the other four regions in the country and why are these two zones not involved in this military operations?

Three, why do we have security operations in the Southern region and middle belt but not in the core Northern states, when it is a common knowledge that the North West and North Eest are the havens of Boko Haram terrorist group, Herdsmen/Marauders, ISWA and Bandits?

Four, is this not a desperate and calculated attempt by the Buhari administration to mop up all the small fire arms in the hands of indegenous people that they will use to defend their ancestral lands against any invasion of the marauders?

Five, will the calculated goal to mop up all the small fire arms by military operations not make the indegenous people of Nigeria defenseless and pave way for a deadly genocide?

ESNOA posits that if there are no valid answers for the aforementioned questions and since the fact still remains that self preservation is the first law of nature, the indegenous people of Nigeria may not surrender their small fire arms to the Nigeria army, especially those with licenses.

Also, since the Buhari administration will not provide security to defend the indegenous people of Nigeria against the marauders, the people must be prepared and ready to protect and defend their ancestral lands. It is within their constitutional rights to protect and defend their lands as embedded in the United Nations Human Rights charter of 1948, and Nigeria as a country subscribe to the United Nations treaty and international law.

ESNOA will work in synergy with other like minds organizations like NINA, human right bodies, self determination groups, credible religious organizations, professional bodies and concerned citizens to resist any attempt by the Nigeria army to tacitly or directly help the marauders to colonize the indegenous people of Nigeria.

Also, we will work as a platform to sensitise and disseminate safety information to our people at the grass roots.

We also plead with the State Governors of these affected states to use their constitutional rights to discourage such evil exercise by the Nigerian Government in their states to avert the evil that looms
