Among the distinguished nominees is Professor Adam Richards, a British stuntman, action director, film director, producer, martial artist, and founder of Never Give Up Productions, a UK-based film and media company known for its groundbreaking stunt innovation, martial arts choreography, and inspiring cinematic storytelling.

Born into a family with a distinguished military heritage, Adam is the son of former SBS officer Ronald Adams and a descendant of William Adams — the English navigator and samurai who became a historical legend in 17th-century Japan. From this legacy, Adam inherited discipline, honor, and perseverance — values that have guided his remarkable journey.

From an early age, Adam displayed a deep passion for martial arts and physical performance. His dedication led him to represent the United Kingdom as part of the British Wushu Team, one of the world’s most respected martial arts disciplines. It was there that he developed a lifelong respect for Eastern martial philosophies, which would later inspire his cinematic approach to action.

Having trained under legendary masters Ranjit Dhillion and Grandmaster Chee Soo, Adam mastered the philosophy of martial arts as both a discipline and a way of life. His path took him to Hong Kong, where a pivotal meeting with Jackie Chan transformed his career and ignited his lifelong mission to merge martial arts mastery with cinematic storytelling.

Upon returning to the UK, Adam began a distinguished career as a professional stunt performer, earning recognition as “The Man Behind the Mask” for his performances as the Red Power Ranger in live action shows. His exceptional skill, creativity, and fearlessness soon led him to work on major international productions, including:

Registered on the UK Stunt Register since 1997, Adam has built a reputation for precision, creativity, and excellence in performance and action design.

Driven by his philosophy of continuous improvement, he developed Kuen Tao, his own system of combat and cinematic movement — a synthesis of traditional martial arts and modern performance principles. Holding eight black belts across disciplines including Kickboxing, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Wushu, Doumg, Jujitsu, Chen Chan, and Kail, Adam’s technical mastery and artistry have earned him global respect.

Beyond the screen, Adam’s passion for education and mentorship was recognized when NIMS Technical University in Jaipur, India, appointed him Professor of Film Media and Martial Arts, honoring his achievements and dedication to guiding future generations of performers and filmmakers.

Today, through Never Give Up Productions, Adam continues to produce and direct international projects across China, Malaysia, Amsterdam, and the United Kingdom, celebrating courage, resilience, and creative excellence.
