Among the distinguished nominees is Sir Michael Chukwujekwu, Ph.D., KSC, a highly respected Nigerian-British architect, academic, sustainable development expert, and community leader whose life’s journey embodies service, innovation, and impact at both local and global levels.

Hailing from Ozubulu under Ekwusigo LGA in Anambra State, Nigeria, Sir Michael grew up in a loving Christian family that instilled in him deep cultural and spiritual values. Known for his warmth, intelligence, and creativity since childhood, he first drew public attention as a gifted artist — winning championship painting awards during the Festival of Arts and Culture exhibitions in the then Old Nnewi LGA. His talent in fine arts eventually led to numerous commissioned works, including paintings and bronze relief sculptures, before pursuing Architecture at the Master’s level.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Sir Michael has:

• Designed and delivered more than 246 residential, commercial, and institutional projects globally — including over 170 across London boroughs, some in collaboration with leading peers.
• Served as Zone Inspector of the Former Eastern Zone for the Architectural Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
• Developed deep expertise in Sustainable Development, fueled by his Ph.D. research supported by a global scholarship in the United Kingdom.
• Lectured at several leading universities in the UK, and is currently a lecturer at the University of Westminster, London.
• Published academic work in respected high-ranking journals, advancing knowledge in sustainability, waste-to-energy, net-zero energy solutions, petroleum and solid minerals, and agro-processing.
• Actively contributed as a board member of three UK-based organizations and participated in London development forums influencing city planning and community growth.
• Built strong networks with high-profile organizations and global business leaders, positioning him as a thought leader across multiple sectors.

Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Sir Michael is a man deeply committed to community and faith. An invested Knight of the United Kingdom and Europe Council of Knights, he is widely respected for his integrity, generosity, and dedication to uplifting others. Married to Dr. Angela, together they are raising three children while continuing to serve God and humanity.

His personal interests — including art collection, politics, film production, event management, content creation, and acting (with both lead and supporting roles in movies) — reflect his creative spirit and commitment to cultural development.
