Charles H. DeBow, III Honored as a Recipient of the 2025 Clevenard Media Award for Global Business Leadership

Palma de Mallorca, Spain — For the first time, the vibrant Mediterranean city of Palma de Mallorca will host the Clevenard Media Award 2025, an international celebration of excellence in entertainment, entrepreneurship, fashion, innovation, and community empowerment. This landmark gathering will unite visionary entrepreneurs, creatives, government leaders, NGOs, and changemakers from across the globe to honor those who have transformed society through leadership, courage, and service.

This is not a competition—all nominees are selected to receive their award in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

Among the distinguished honorees is Charles H. DeBow, III, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Black Chamber of Commerce® (NBCC).

Mr. DeBow’s career spans more than two decades of service in every department of the NBCC since joining in 1999 as liaison to the Global Federation of Black Chambers in the Americas, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa. Under his leadership, the NBCC has evolved into a global advocate for Black-owned enterprises, breaking down systemic barriers and creating pathways to capital, trade readiness, and policy influence.

A co-founder of the National Alliance for Black Business (NABB)—an unprecedented partnership between the NBCC, the National Business League, and the World Conference of Mayors—Mr. DeBow has championed initiatives that unify and elevate Black economic interests on both domestic and international stages. His work has driven the launch of the Global Economic Development Initiative (GEDI) and the Pan Global Hub (PGH), connecting Black Business Enterprises to the $32 trillion global trade ecosystem.

His commitment to economic empowerment is rooted in a proud legacy. The grandson of a Buffalo Soldier and the son of an original Tuskegee Airman, Mr. DeBow brings a heritage of service and resilience to his leadership. A graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, his earlier career in the music and entertainment industry saw him shaping global marketing campaigns for cultural icons such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Bruce Springsteen.

Under his stewardship, the NBCC continues its mission—founded in 1993—to economically empower African American communities through entrepreneurship and capitalistic activity, with 200+ chapters across 40 U.S. states and 50 nations. Today, the Chamber is advancing post-COVID economic recovery through global trade, infrastructure development, technology, agribusiness, energy, and socially responsible business practices.
