Hon. Senator Linda Nxumalo is an accomplished leader whose career bridges high-level private sector leadership and impactful public service. Currently serving in Eswatini’s Senate (2023–2028), she is recognized for her strategic vision, policy reform initiatives, and unwavering advocacy for gender equality, digital transformation, and youth empowerment.

Education & Early Foundations

Senator Nxumalo holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and a Diploma in Commerce from the University of Eswatini (1995–1996). She later earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Leadership and Change Management from Leeds Metropolitan University, alongside professional qualifications including a Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate in Telecommunications Management from the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization.

Private Sector Achievements

Before entering politics, Senator Nxumalo held influential positions in key industries:

• Shell Oil Swaziland (2001–2005): Advanced from marketing internship to Distribution Account Executive.
• MTN Eswatini (2004–2012): Progressed to Service Manager: Business, driving commercial growth.
• Eswatini Post & Telecommunications Corporation (2012–2014): Led business intelligence and international partnerships.
• Royal Science & Technology Park: Headed International Business and later Business Development, Marketing & Sales.
• Eswatini Tourism Authority (2018–2023): Served as CEO, steering national tourism strategy and global promotion.

Political Leadership & Reform

In the Senate, she has:

• Chaired the Portfolio Committee for the Ministry of Natural Resources & Energy, introducing reforms enabling married women to register land in their own names and advocating for women’s quotas in the mining sector.
• Chairs the Senate Portfolio Committee for ICT, leading digital inclusion policies and ensuring women benefit from technological advancements.
• Launched the national chapter of the Africa Educate Her Campaign, empowering girls and women in STEM fields.

Commonwealth Engagement

As the Southern Africa Representative for the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians (Eswatini Branch), she strengthens the capacity of women in parliament, promotes gender mainstreaming in governance, and advances the transformation of legislative bodies into gender-sensitive institutions.
