Mr. Nelson Uwaifo Ovbude Nominated for the Clevenard Media Award 2025

Asaba, Delta State – July 31, 2025 – In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s maritime and logistics industries, Mr. Nelson Uwaifo Ovbude has been nominated for the prestigious Clevenard Media Award 2025.

Mr. Ovbude, a seasoned industry leader with over 30 years of experience, is currently the General Manager of ECM Terminal Ltd, Calabar Free Port, a member of the Ecomarine Group. Prior to this, he held high-level positions including Group General Manager, Marine & Operations at Brittania-U Nigeria Ltd, Port Manager of Delta Ports Warri, and Calabar Port Manager, culminating a distinguished career at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) where he served for more than three decades.

His dedication to innovation, operational excellence, and public-private partnerships in Nigeria’s port and maritime sector has earned him a reputation as a transformational leader. He has participated in multiple national maritime policy reforms and played critical roles in improving terminal operations, container handling, and port management systems.

Education & Credentials

• Mr. Ovbude holds multiple degrees and certifications, including:
• Ph.D. in Transportation and Industrial Studies (in view, University of Calabar)
• M.Sc. in Operations and Supply Chain Management – University of Liverpool, UK
• M.Sc. in Transport Studies – Ogun State University
• Certificate in Terminal Simulation Techniques – World Maritime University, Sweden

He has received advanced training in the U.S., U.K., Netherlands, Sweden, and Ghana. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS), The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
