This year, for the first time, the dynamic Mediterranean city of Palma de Mallorca will host the Clevenard Media Award, a global event that celebrates trailblazers in entrepreneurship, healthcare, innovation, fashion, governance, and community empowerment.

An Outstanding Professional Committed to Excellence and Humanity

Claudia Lorena Guerrero Moreno is a Pediatrician and Neonatologist, with an extensive academic and clinical background. She graduated as a General Physician from Universidad Libre – Cali, and pursued advanced studies in Health Administration at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Cali), Pediatrics and Neonatology at the University of Panama, and holds a Postgraduate Degree in Pediatric Nutrition from Boston University.

She also completed a Master’s and Doctorate in Clinical Sciences at the University of Panama and holds a Specialization in University Teaching from Universidad Icesi.

Currently, she serves as a Neonatologist at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Fundación Valle del Lili in Cali, one of Colombia’s most recognized medical institutions. She is also the coordinator of the first NICU in Colombia’s Pacific coastal region, located in Tumaco, and the founder of the Neuropsychology and Pediatrics Unit of the Pacific in Buenaventura, offering comprehensive care to children in one of the country’s most underserved areas.

A Voice for Afro-Colombian Women in Medicine

Dr. Guerrero Moreno is also the President of the Colombian Association of Afro-descendant Women Doctors (ACMMA). In this role, she actively promotes visibility, equity, and meaningful participation of Afro-Colombian women in the field of medicine.

Under her leadership, ACMMA has launched numerous initiatives to bring healthcare access, education, and empowerment to marginalized communities throughout Colombia.

She is also a national instructor for the Hospital Padrino Program of Fundación Valle del Lili – a project that strengthens specialized healthcare services in rural and underserved areas across the country.

A Life Dedicated to Service and Social Transformation

What sets Claudia apart is her deep commitment to social justice and health equity. She regularly leads health brigades in remote rural regions of Colombia’s Pacific coast, integrating medical science with a humanitarian, community-based, and transformative approach.

Her work goes far beyond the hospital setting – she represents the embodiment of medicine as a tool for dignity, empowerment, and hope.
