Quite worrisome and highly disturbing is the insecurity of the lives and properties in the county presently. Because the insecurity situations of Nigeria, has now become a reoccurring decimal. And unfortunately too, no where in particular across the federation could be said to be safe, peaceful and free of crimes and insecurity any longer.

With gruesome audacity and devish effrontery the spate of terrorism, banditry, marauding, kidnapping, insurgency, robbery, jailbreak, assassinations and other alarming insecurity challenges had assumed a very dangerous dimensions and is now turning our country into an Hobbesian State where everyone is being threatened, troubled; traumatised, scared; fearful and unsettling as a result of dire and the terrible insecurity situations of our country.

No one sleeps with the two eyes closed again, travelling on our highways is now a nightmare, going to farms nowadays is just like an attempt into a suicide mission, schools, hospitals, religious/worship centres and recreational centres are no longer safe again.

In a serious terms, all these atrocities are hereby strongly condemned by all the Members of Yoruba Council Worldwide, because no country can grow, excel or advance with its falling, failing and defective security system.

Now, if the President, as the Commander- in -Chief with his strong security details are no longer safe from target who is therefore safe in Nigeria?

Unfortunately, despite the valiant efforts of our gallant security personnels, still the grave insecurity still continued to unabated with serious consequences of lives being lost daily including the lives of the security personnels who had paid a supreme prices while defending their fathers' land. And this means there are many issues that needs to be critically reexamined, cautiously reevaluated and diligently overhauled.

Yes, there are many security saboteurs within the polity, and this really calls for a very serious assessment and a robust paradigm shift in terms of quality security disciplines in order for the fight against insecurity to be eventually, fruitful and result oriented.

Intelligence gathering and information sharing by our security and the citizenry must be effective and decisive as well, because in security, citizen synergy and cooperation with the security establishments is sacrosanct and really significant in fighting the crimes in the society.

Community policing and citizen participation in security management is imperative. Because security remains everybody's business globally and we must not fail in this our collective and civic responsibility.

Our security agencies and other local Vigilante Groups must be adequately trained, inspired, well renumerated constantly motivated and sufficiently empowered.

The inflow of marauders and killer aliens into our country and communities must be decisively curtailed and vigorously checked in other to nip the crimes in the bud before they rear their ugly heads.

Our porous borders must be adequately manned, guided and protected and with the support of the advanced technological surveillance across our borders.

The inflow and proliferation of illegal ammunition into the country must be decisively monitored, controlled, altered and stopped from entering into the country.

Most importantly, the prosecution of the criminals must be speedily carried out and appropriate justice served on them in record time. And there must be a strong security build up around our correctional centres in order to guide against further jailbreak that is so rampant nowadays.

In Yoruba land in particularand, like elsewhere in Nigeria, all our forests must be critically secured with maximum alacrity, because the information available now and as variously based on first-hand experiences by many, is that most of our forest have now turned into Kidnappers' den and notorious hamlets, where they now carry out their devilish acts and criminal activities with brazen audacity. And this is not only limited to Ijebu Ode, Ore, Ondo, Benin forests but with other places where the Kidnappers now hold sway as the deadly and merciless Kings of the jungles with their dangerous killer squad in a business of ransome kidnappings, satanic organ harvest and murderous ritual practices and other inhuman indulgences.

The inflow of aliens to the South-West is becoming more alarming now, and we are already sitting on gunpowder waiting to be boomerang adequate security is not taken. The siege on Yorubaland by these foreign criminal marauders is quite ominous and it is time we take the security of our ancestral lands very seriously before it is too late. Because as they say: "Aki fi ina si oru'le sun." No one lounges with indifference while fire ranges on his/her rooftop. We must act very fast now, sensitization on security is very critical now.

Moreover, though we must salute the gallant effort of our security architectures for their sacrifices in the fight against insurgencies, banditry, killer marauders, etc. Many have paid a supreme prices with their lives while fighting for their fatherland, may their souls rest in perfect peace.

However, all these gallant fallen heroes deserved posthumous awards. And their families must be adequately compensated as well in order to motivate other that Nigeria is worth fighting for and defending as well.

In conclusion, the issue of sabotage in our security system deserved a rigorous observation, because there are many saboteurs within the system. The terrorists sympathisers, many insurgents and kidnappers accomplices, the informants etc are within their ranks. Nigeria security services must work on this and continue to fish them out with superlative intelligence gathering and let them face the consequences of their unpatriotic actions.

Because according to Marcus Tullius Cicero, The Roman Statesman and Orator (106-43BC), he said:
"A nation can survive its FOOLS, and even the AMBITIOUS. But it cannot survive TREASON from WITHIN. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for is known and carries his banner openly. But the TRAITOR moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whisper rustling through all the valleys, heard in the very HALLS OF GOVERNMENT ITSELF".

I believe with this vintage and commensurate quotation with the insecurity happenings in Nigeria, with its complex nuances, its complicated manipulations and extreme compromised nature, you can all help me arrive at my appropriate conclusion.
