Born and raised in Kotu Quarry, The Gambia, DJ Alka has been passionate about music and sound engineering from a young age. He attended Latrikunda Yiringanya Primary School (2004-2010) before proceeding to Greater Banjul Upper Basic School, where he completed his GABECE exams.

Growing up in a community where music played a significant role, DJ Alka discovered his passion for sound engineering and electrical work. He started by fixing sound systems and collaborating with various technicians. Over time, his love for music evolved, and he began performing as a household DJ, specializing in Afro Beats, Amapiano, Dancehall, and Gambian Music.

Since then, DJ Alka has worked with numerous clubs, hotels, and sound systems, including the renowned STAR LINE SOUND MOVEMENT, solidifying his reputation as one of The Gambia’s most dynamic DJs.
