His passion for spreading the gospel through music led to the release of his award-winning album, Back to Base, which solidified his reputation as a pioneer in African gospel music.

Asu Ekiye has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including being a two-time consecutive winner of the Channel O Best African Gospel Artiste Award. His musical influence has extended beyond the shores of Nigeria, taking him to various continents where he continues to inspire audiences with his unique Niger Delta gospel sound.

Beyond music, he has made significant contributions to entertainment and culture, serving as the Special Adviser to the Governor of Bayelsa State on Entertainment and Culture. His impact in the industry has also been recognized with an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Triune Biblical University, Brooklyn, New York, USA.

Currently, Asu Ekiye is the International President of the Fellowship of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria (FOGMMON), an umbrella organization supporting gospel artists with chapters across Nigeria and beyond. He is also a businessman, politician, and human rights activist dedicated to uplifting communities through faith and music.

Asu Ekiye is married with children and currently resides in Abuja, Nigeria.
