Alain St.Ange, Seychelles Tourism Expert, Congratulates Ghana’s President John Mahama on Election Victory
Alain St.Ange, the former Seychelles Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports, and Marine, and a renowned tourism consultant, has extended his congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama of Ghana on his recent electoral victory.
President Mahama, who previously served as Ghana’s President from 2012 to 2016, hosted St.Ange at his offices in Accra during a visit to discuss the development of tourism across the African continent. This meeting took place shortly before St.Ange’s 2017 candidacy to lead the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as Secretary-General.
“Ghana is a tourism leader in Africa, boasting an impressive array of unique selling points (USPs). The potential to develop its tourism sector with Ghanaians at the forefront as custodians of their unique industry is immense,” said St.Ange.
In addition to his extensive tourism advocacy, St.Ange was one of the three candidates in Seychelles’ 2020 Presidential Elections. Since shifting his focus to consultancy through his firm, Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy, he has engaged with Ghana’s tourism sector under a World Bank-backed contract. Reflecting on this role, he remarked, “This opportunity allowed me to rediscover the greatness of Ghana and develop a deep appreciation for its people and culture.”
St.Ange continues to advocate for tourism as a tool for economic growth and cultural pride across Africa, with Ghana serving as a key example of potential and opportunity in the sector.
