Alain St.Ange of Seychelles to join working group  Sayari Dunia to Host Pre-Sessions of Africa Tourism Day and Africa Tourism Climate Action Forum (ATCAF) 2024 at UNECA in Addis Ababa

Sayari Dunia Sustainable Tourism Foundation has confirmed that Alain St.Ange from Seychelles will be a delegate at the preliminary sessions of the 5th Africa Tourism Day and the 2nd Africa Tourism Climate Action Forum (ATCAF) 2024. These sessions will take place at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on November 6, 2024. The theme for this year, “Repositioning Women for the Next Frontier of Sustainable Tourism and Climate Action,” will set the tone for the main events happening from November 25-28, 2024, in Ekiti and Osun States, Nigeria. Alain St.Ange will join Dr. Abigail Olagbaye and other tourism delegates from across Africa.

The pre-sessions aim to unite global stakeholders in tourism, climate action, and sustainability to discuss Africa’s tourism sector within the context of climate change, with a specific emphasis on women’s leadership and inclusion. The forum will explore key issues and opportunities to empower women in climate action and sustainable tourism, supporting Africa's vision for a greener and more resilient future.

ATCAF 2024 will feature an extensive conference on sustainable tourism and climate action, with a focus on training and honoring 150 women from across Africa who have pioneered change, driven innovation, and made significant contributions to climate and tourism initiatives. With at least three women nominated from each of Africa’s 55 countries, this event is a major call for increased inclusion, leadership, and empowerment of women in sustainable development. Attendees will participate in workshops and training sessions on sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, creative industries, waste management, tourism, and more.

Alain St.Ange, a seasoned tourism consultant and head of the Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy, collaborates with tourism boards and ministries across Africa and the ASEAN bloc. Previously, he served as Seychelles’ Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine and was a candidate for the Secretary-General position at the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
