Uganda Tourism Board surprised Tourism Leaders attending the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2024.

At the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2024, the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) surprised tourism leaders by recognizing three distinguished "Tourism Veterans" during a packed tourism trade dinner. The dinner, organized by Ugandan Airlines, took place at the Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala on Day 2 of the Expo.

Lilly Ajarova, CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board, invited Ikechi Uko of Akwaaba African Travel Market, Alain St.Ange, former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports & Marine of Seychelles and President of the African Tourism Board (ATB), and Cuthbert Ncube, the Executive Chairman of the African Tourism Board (ATB), to the stage to be honored. They were celebrated as the "Giants and Pillars" of tourism in Africa.

In his message to the tourism trade, Ikechi Uko expressed his gratitude, stating, "Massive recognition to share the same space with my Oga St. Ange." Alain St.Ange, in his remarks, shared that he felt humbled by the recognition received during the Official Dinner and extended his thanks to Lilly Ajarova and the Uganda Tourism Board.
