ANTI-CRIME UNIT THE GAMBIA DECORATES PROMOTED OFFICERS

The Anti-Crime Unit held a colorful ceremony at the ACU headquarters in Banjulunding to decorate 275 officers, ranging from 1st Class Police Constable to Assistant Superintendent of Police on Friday, April 19, 2024.


The event was attended by Assistant Inspector General of Police Ebrima Bah, along with numerous security chiefs and dignitaries.


AIG Bah, speaking on behalf of Inspector General of Police Seedy Mukhtar Touray, praised the unit's dynamic leadership, which has significantly contributed to reduction crime rate. He urged the officers to maintain their professionalism and reassured them of leadership’s ongoing support.


Momodou Sowe, Commissioner of the ACU, expressed gratitude to the IGP and police command for recognizing the unit’s efforts, which led to the promotions. He encouraged the newly decorated officers to continue their hard work.


Additionally, the event featured the raising of the flags including the ACU flag, tributes to fallen heroes, and the inauguration of a fountain.


The Police Band provided melodious music for the parade, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere of the gathering.
