Minister of Works Inspects Federal Roads Projects ll 10th April 2024
Minister of Works Dave Umahi, FNSE has inspected the pace of work being done on the Enugu – Port Harcourt expressway as well as on the Eleme – Onne section of the East – West road.
During the inspections, the Minister emphasized the importance of these two road transport corridors to the economy of the south east and south south regions of the country and the nation at large.
The minister also said he was expectant that the portions of the Enugu – Port Harcourt expressway inspected could be ready anytime within the early part of the second quarter of 2024.
He also urged the contractor rehabilitating the Eleme – Onne section to speed up work and ensure strict compliance with the road design specification as the Federal Government wasn’t going to accept any completed project that fell short of standard.
The minister was confident that use of the roads could commence in the shortest possible time.
